When I was designing jewelry, I learned a lot of skills: how to wire-wrap stones, how to solder and how to crochet with fine wire (yes, that’s a thing!).
But the one skill I loved the most was learning how to just let a design “be” whatever IT wanted to be.
That was not an easy thing for me to learn, however. I’m someone who for most of my adult life you might describe as self-directed and goal-oriented; someone who had a set of goals, a plan, and was always working towards something.
With jewelry design though, it was different.
I would start out with a “vision”, a picture in my mind, maybe inspired by something I had seen, but it was such a great practice to let go the left-brain part of me – to just be in the flow.
I think that’s probably true for any great artist in any medium whether painting on a canvas or putting together strings of music.
It may sound strange to some, but as you work with it, the canvas comes alive and has a life of its own. It knows when it’s “complete”. Go beyond that point and it starts to lose its magic.
An artist has to learn how to “tune in” to that magic and know when to put down the brush.
I’ve even heard interior designers say that a house “speaks” to them about what it wants to be.
The same can go for your life.
You can start the year with:
-
Envisioning, creating a picture of what you’d like to do, feel, experience and have more of in your life;
-
Crafting an outline of some of the actions you’ll need to take in order to co-create that; and
-
Allowing it to all unfold in the most beautiful way.
There’s this part of me that knows we need to be conscious on a regular basis of how our life is aligning with what lights us up, to do those regular check-ins through meditation, journaling and a practice of stillness.
But there’s also this other part of me that has become keenly aware that really stepping into all of that requires a certain amount of that same jewelry creative process that allows things to unfold – to try just a little less to control how it all looks and feels.
To not force things into my “plan”.
With all of that said, I’m taking a slightly different twist in planning my year in 2023.
I want to be conscious about it. But it needs to feel… more gentle.
It must feel soothing to my Soul with a capital “S”.
If all of this is intriguing to you, I have good news!
Once a year I open up enrollment in our Co-Create Your Dream Life Program. It’s open now, but only for a few days.
It all starts with our virtual retreat on Saturday, January 21st 10:00am-1:00 pm PST / 1-4:00pm ET.

This is a virtual Vision Board Planning Retreat that has been designed from the ground up to help you not only discover your deepest dreams and desires, but to take real, actionable steps in manifesting them over the next year.
Vision setting is the key to having a future that you’ve always desired. You visualize it, you practice the steps, you take the actions and you watch as it all unfolds.
Scientific studies have shown that your brain doesn’t know the difference between a vision and an actual action.
Which means…when you practice visualization, a large part of you believes that you are actually doing the thing itself, which makes it that much easier for you to do it in the physical, day-to-day visible world.
And guess what…I’m giving you the all tools and 1-on-1 support you need, so you too can start to Co-Create Your Dream Life in 2023.
In the process, you’ll create the blueprint for how you want your life to look, with more clarity on what you need to do to get there!
It’s a program – not just a one-time webinar or training where you’re left to figure out how to take action or implement what you’ve learned.
It’s a Virtual Retreat, a support system and group coaching program all rolled into one!
That’s right. It’s a complete 1-YEAR program designed to keep you focused, motivated and moving forward – all the way through the end of the year!
Because I’ve designed this program to make sure everyone gets the individual attention they need, I’ve limited the number of participants. Once all of the spots are taken, I will close it down until next year.
With a little imagination, some patience and persistence, you can shape your entire life with more passion, purpose and clarity.
